ESTOS and Dialogic Provide Enhanced Solution for Office Communications Server 2007

Add this article to:
ESTOS and Dialogic Provide Enhanced Solution for Office Communications Server 2007 Link: http://bit.ly/2pobg Article:

Dialogic 4000 Media Gateway Series Hosts ESTOS CallControlGateway for Microsoft® Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2. ESTOS GmbH, a leading manufacturer of Unified Communications Software and Dialogic Corporation ("Dialogic"), a global provider of world-class products and technologies for media and signal processing today announced that the Dialogic® 4000 Media Gateway Series (DMG4000 Series) will host the ESTOS CallControlGateway software, in addition to providing the mediation server role for Microsoft® Office Communications Server 2007 R2 (OCS R2). Both companies' products are designed to support OCS R2 by providing integration with legacy PBX systems. The combination of a DMG4000 gateway and the ESTOS CallControlGateway software provides a single platform for PBX to IP media gateway functions for VoIP service, and remote call control for legacy PBX digital desk phones.

The DMG4000 Series is a set of integrated systems designed to connect unified communications solutions to existing PBX systems and PSTN networks. Based on a standard rackmount server running the Windows® Server 2008 x64 operating system, the DMG4000 Gateways are hybrid media gateways designed for OCS R2, and, therefore include the role of Mediation Server, which is Microsoft's technology providing PSTN and PBX interoperability, high-fidelity VoIP, and security.

The ESTOS CallControlGateway (ECCG) provides remote call control functionality for existing PBX infrastructure (classic, hybrid or pure VoIP). The ECCG is middleware software for Microsoft Windows which enables the OCS R2 to control an existing PBX and PBX desk phone (classic, hybrid or VoIP). This means PBX desk phone activities can be initiated by the Office Communicator Client, and presence information related to the use of the legacy PBX desk phone is captured by OCS R2 and shared across the enterprise and with federated partners.

A DMG4000 gateway which includes the ECCG will enable customers to deploy Microsoft® Office Communicator 2007 as a VoIP client across the enterprise, and simultaneously enable remote call control service to the legacy PBX. This allows end users a choice of selecting either a desk phone or the Office Communicator 2007 client as their primary device for making and receiving calls, and also allows them to alternate between them as needed. The result is a smooth and integrated transition to the soft-client features of Office Communicator 2007, which delivers flexibility for those working both in the office environment and remotely.

"PBX deskphone integration and control from within the Office Communicator 2007 client is a much sought after feature by enterprise customers," states Florian Bock, Managing Director for ESTOS GmbH. "To date, only a very limited number of PBX vendors have developed direct desk top phone interoperability with Microsoft® Office Communications Server 2007 through the Microsoft Unified Communications Open Interoperability Program. The ESTOS CallControlGateway solves this problem by leveraging the Microsoft® Telephony Application Program Interface (TAPI) and standard PBX routing software." TAPI is generally available with a wide range of existing PBX systems, or can be added to the PBX as a minor upgrade at a relatively low cost.

The ECCG software and five complimentary seat licenses will ship pre-loaded on all Dialogic DMG4000 Series gateways beginning in July 2009. This will enable Office Communications Server 2007 customers an easy way to try the call control features offered by the ESTOS software. ESTOS will provide customers with information about sources of supply for additional seat licenses to expand ECCG across enterprise groups or to support universal deployments.

"We are pleased that ESTOS has chosen the DMG4000 Series to host its middleware," stated Franz-Josef Eberle, General Manager of the Enterprise Gateway Product Group at Dialogic. "It highlights the DMG4000 Series' ability as a cost effective platform to support third party software, adding unique capabilities and additional value to unified communications solutions."

Interoperable Solution Enables Secure SIP Trunking for Legacy PBX and Contact Center Environments

STOCKHOLM, and PARSIPPANY, NJ, May 26, 2009 - Ingate® Systems, which develops firewall technology and products that enable trusted Unified Communications, and Dialogic Corporation ("Dialogic"), a global provider of world-class products and technologies for multimedia and signal processing, today announced that they have completed the necessary testing to validate the Dialogic® 2000 Media Gateway Series (DMG2000) as interoperable with Ingate SIParator® and Ingate Firewall® products. The combination of a DMG2000 gateway and an Ingate SIParator or Ingate Firewall will allow enterprises utilizing legacy PBX and Contact Center systems to easily and securely adopt SIP trunks as a replacement for traditional PSTN voice services.

SIP trunking has emerged as one of the hottest voice service solutions in the business communications market since the divestiture of AT&T in the 1980's, and the ensuing long distance service competition. Both enterprise class and small to mid-sized business (SMB) customers are eager to adopt VoIP service as a means to reduce voice service costs, particularly in the current economic environment. Adopting SIP trunking service puts business customers in a position to benefit from both lower costs and the multimedia capabilities of the SIP protocol to extend their communications between business partners beyond basic voice in the future.

"To date, most SIP trunking providers and resellers have focused on the opportunity to migrate SMB class customers from PSTN service in concert with an upgrade to a SIP-ready IP-PBX system. While this opportunity focus remains logical and compelling, there is also a significant opportunity to migrate Enterprise class customers who maintain legacy (non-SIP) PBX and contact center systems" stated Steve Johnson, President of Ingate Systems. "The combined security features of the Ingate SIParator with the SIP to PBX trunk conversion capability of a DMG2000 gateway enable a cost effective, secure and reliable SIP trunk interface for these customers."

SIP trunks are delivered to business customers over broadband IP data networks. With this interoperability solution, both Ingate and Dialogic products are deployed on the customer premises to support the SIP trunking service. The Ingate products are deployed at the network edge between a wide area IP network and the corporate LAN, securely passing SIP signaling and VoIP media streams to and from the corporate LAN. The Dialogic gateway resides on the corporate LAN and is connected to the legacy PBX or contact center via traditional T1/E1 trunk ports. The DMG2000 gateway passes the SIP Trunk signaling and media from the Ingate SIParator to the PBX by emulating traditional PSTN trunk services.

"We are very pleased to announce this interoperability with Ingate today," states Franz-Josef Eberle, General Manager, Dialogic Enterprise Gateway Product Group. "Ingate is a recognized leader in securing SIP trunking for business customers, which comprise a critical piece that can be overlooked by some device vendors. We believe this solution set truly opens up a whole new Enterprise market opportunity for SIP Trunking providers and their resellers."

The two companies will deliver a free educational webinar, Coming of Age: SIP Trunking for Secure Enterprise Deployments on Tuesday June 16th at 1:00 pm eastern time. Registration is open for the event, and industry participants as well as IT professionals are invited to attend.

Dialogic® IMG Integrated Media Gateways Now Support More Services Link: http://bit.ly/2pobg Article:

Parsippany, NJ - May 18, 2009 - Dialogic Corporation ("Dialogic"), a global provider of world-class products and technologies for multimedia and signal processing, today announced an impressive new suite of availability and service-enabling features on the award-winning Dialogic® IMG Integrated Media Gateways. The IMG Gateways (IMGs) help carriers leverage existing SS7 networks and connect subscribers to IP-based enhanced services. The IMGs have recently been extended to act as a multimedia border element with capabilities such as SIP mediation, topology hiding and media transcoding.

Extended Multimedia Border Element Functionality

With the introduction of Dialogic® IMG System Software Release 10.5.2, the robust multimedia border element functions of the IMG Gateways have been expanded to include new SIP mediation capabilities. In addition to support for SIP-to-SIP translations, the IMGs now offer SIP-to-SIP-I and SIP-to-SIP-T interworking. This helps carriers to satisfy their ever-increasing needs for connectivity between networks that use incompatible SIP variants as is often the case between wireless and wireline networks.

"We were very pleased when Dialogic introduced their SIP-to-SIP interworking capabilities coupled with high-density transcoding on the IMG Gateway," says Paul Amick, Executive Vice President of PhoenixSoft, a long-time Dialogic partner. "The IMG gives us the ability to implement topology masking, a vital feature for our wholesale Voice over IP solution, without having to deploy both a gateway and a session border controller. We are very enthusiastic about Dialogic's continued expansion of SIP mediation and transcoding capabilities and we will continue to integrate IMG Gateways into our Cirrus Softswitch solution."

Enhanced Service Availability Features

With the introduction of IMG System Software Release 10.5.2, the IMGs offer a compact 1U gateway footprint coupled with resiliency features that are important in a carrier environment. New capabilities designed to help improve service availability include support for a graceful upgrade procedure in SS7 networks and N+1 redundancy for DS3 links across multiple gateways. These features can help service providers keep their revenue-generating VoIP infrastructure and applications up and running with fewer interruptions while enjoying the advantage of a space-efficient configuration.

The ability of the IMGs to integrate with leading third party load balancing technology will help service providers to further enhance application availability and business continuity.

Mr. David Aviv, Vice President Carrier Services at Radware, comments, "The powerful combination of Radware's AppDirector load balancing switch and Dialogic's IMG Gateways creates a highly scalable solution for leading edge SIP applications which includes transcoding for voice, fax, and tones. With new features such as support for SIP-to-SIP-I, translations, Dialogic continues to raise the bar for connectivity between wireline and wireless networks." He adds, "We are also impressed with the seamless fit between the rack-and-stack architecture of the IMG Gateways and the SIP load balancing and traffic redirection technology of Radware, which makes the products scalable and readily adaptable to carrier environments."

Broader Any to Any Connectivity Capabilities

With the release of IMG System Software Release 10.5.2, Dialogic also has extended the versatile "any-to-any" network connectivity of the IMGs by adding new signaling and service layers. Carriers can use the newly introduced SIGTRAN M3UA to enable subscribers on circuit-based networks to connect to next generation enhanced services. For unified communications applications, revenue-generating services such as Message Waiting can now be supported with the incorporation of Transaction Capability Application Part (TCAP) in the Dialogic® IMG 1010 Integrated Media Gateway.

In addition, support for clear channel codecs now allows service providers to backhaul clear channel video and data over IP networks, so they can connect between 3G video handset users and video enabled network services.

Harold Klett, Dialogic General Manager for Service Provider Platforms Product Group at Dialogic, sums up the market significance of the new capabilities of IMG System Software Release 10.5.2: "We continue to improve upon the robust functionality of the IMGs in order to enable our customers to deploy more services in more network environments and with enhanced resiliency options. The ability to deploy innovative applications in a variety of demanding hybrid and IP network environments gives our customers strong competitive advantages that help ensure their success."
