Dialogic Corporation to Present Session on HD Voice Technologies
WHO: Martyn Davies of Dialogic Corporation ("Dialogic"), a global provider of world-class products and technologies for multimedia and signal processing, has been selected to speak at the Emerging Communications (eComm) Conference 2009 taking place in Amsterdam next week. Dialogic is also a Gold sponsor of the event.
Martyn Davies is principal consultant at Dialogic, working with a range of technologies from VoIP and NGN through to TDM and traditional SS7 signaling. Starting in the 1980s with a data communications focus, his career has embraced software development, technical consultancy and product management during the evolution of IP networking. Today, Davies is a strong advocate for VoIP technologies and the additional messaging and presence capabilities that come with them.
WHAT: With the growth of VoIP it has become apparent that wideband audio (or high-definition voice) is a possibility, but the question remains as to when HD Voice will come to fixed phones and cell phones, and what technological advancements will be required to make that happen. Davies' session, titled "When Will HD Voice Become a Reality?" will explain codecs, how HD voice affects the handset, and address some of the implementation options that can be used including TrFO (Transcoder-free Operation), TFO (Tandem-Free Operation) and the GSMA's IPX (IP eXchange) initiative.
WHERE: Transformatorhuis, Westergasfabriek
Klönneplein 2
Amsterdam, Noord-Holland
WHEN: Davies' session will be held on Wednesday, October 30th from 2:45pm-3:00pm.
